Hi! I'm Katie, a licensed clinical social worker located in Longmont Colorado. In both my personal and professional life I have focused on finding and encompassing my own "realness." In my practice this means being my authentic self, providing an open and nonjudgmental space, and allowing for human connection in order to promote change and healing.
My therapeutic approach tends to be grounded in a laid-back and informal style which can help to foster an atmosphere where clients feel comfortable and at ease. I feel that collaboration and connection is at the heart of effective therapy. I firmly believe that you are the expert on your own life, and our sessions are driven by your unique needs and goals. I work together with clients to explore your experiences, challenges, and aspirations, working side by side to identify effective strategies and solutions.
In our sessions, you'll find a nonjudgmental and accepting space where you can freely express your thoughts and feelings without fear of criticism. I understand that everyone's path in life is different, and I honor and respect your individuality.
My approach is person-centered, meaning that I prioritize your well-being and growth above all else. I'll actively listen, empathize, and provide support tailored to your specific circumstances. Your values, preferences, and personal experiences will guide our work together.
Ultimately, my goal is to empower you to make informed decisions and positive changes in your life. Together, we'll work towards greater self-awareness, emotional well-being, and a path towards living more authentically and in alignment with your true self
A little about my professional background: I graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor's degree in Sociology I went on to receive my masters degree in Social Work from Colorado State University. I am now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in hospice care as well as community mental health.
As fore me as a person and not just a therapist: I live with my husband, our young son, and our 3 pampered pets. When not working I enjoy gardening, cooking, and finding ways to engage with the Longmont community through live music, local festivals, or taking walks through the neighborhood parks. I was born and raised in Colorado and like most of us who live here I take every opportunity to engage with the beautiful natural world around us. I love hiking and taking weekend trips to explore new areas.
If you think we may be a good fit or if you have any questions please contact me. My goal is for you to find the best therapist for you, if that isn't me I will try to provide referrals and resources to get you to that person.
